SAIL (Strings Alliance in Lincoln) Music Camp offers summer music experiences for students entering grades 4-12. Our camps provide opportunities for students to learn the basics, develop their skills, and refine their musicianship. From day camps to large ensemble rehearsals, we have a camp for every strings student.
Strings Alliance in Lincoln (SAIL) Music Camp marked their 35th anniversary in summer of 2019. Founded by Phoebe Hamann, the annual camp sponsored by the Lincoln Alumnae/Patroness Chapter is a one-week summer camp meeting in two separate locations. The two locations and low registration fee make this camp accessible to children throughout Lincoln. The Lincoln Public School district recognizes the importance of music education and supports the camp by providing school facilities. The camp includes recreational activities and games as well as vocal and music theory instruction led by SAI members. The camp faculty is comprised of top musicians from the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music, and private music studios in the area. SAIL Music Camp continues its journey under the watchful eye of Admiral Hannah Jo Smith.
