The Lincoln Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota proudly hosts Music at the Museum each spring at the Lincoln Children’s Museum. This community outreach event celebrates music education by partnering with collegiate SAI chapters from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and Hastings College, as well as CNAfME students from Doane College. Children and families enjoy live performances by local high school musicians, explore an instrument petting zoo, and discover fun ways to make and enjoy music. Together, we inspire the next generation of musicians through creativity, connection, and the joy of music-making.

In early May, Lincoln SAI Alums welcomed our sisters from Eta Nu and Kappa Chapters (and guests from Doane’s C-NAfME) to assist with our award-winning service project, “Music at the Museum.” We collaborate with Lincoln Public Schools and the Lincoln Children’s Museum to plan and present this event each spring. Young museum visitors hear live performances and get up close and personal with a variety of instruments in our “petting zoo.” We had so much fun, we plan to do it again next year!

Sarah Hanify shares her knowledge of the horn with an interested young musician at the Lincoln Children's Museum in April 2013. This annual outreach program was presented in conjunction with Xi-A Province Day in April 2014 -- our college sisters from Kappa and Eta Nu Chapters shared their expertise in the instrument petting zoo.
